In the west, Masculinity is tied to Patriarchy, the system of Government and Culture that has given rise to the European Systems, and Femininity gave rise to the Matriarchal systems and Cultures that helped form the Tribal societies that fell under the thumb of Patriarchy. Societies such as the Native American cultures, the African tribal societies, as well as Central and South American spiritual societies such as the Aztecs, Mayans, and other smaller tribal societies found mostly in central America and the Caribbean.
When these Polarities encountered one another in the past what resulted was a clash of ideals, culture and worldview. The Masculine European Societies won that war of attrition. Having merged, the feminine based societies have lay dormant internally within the western based Patriarchal societies and in the past few decades we have seen a resurgence of this feminine force currently overtaking the West.
Feminism a political and cultural philosophy has gained popularity especially within Academia and through the media this ideal has permeated our society becoming the dominant mode of operation. Politicians have used this dichotomy to help fuel the gender war, tying feminism to an attack on the family structure.
It is important to note that in the past such revolutions have resulted in the collapse of those societies that have undergone a similar transformation. One could make a legitimate argument that this polarity clash was part of the reason why the Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Romans fell, with both societies having undergone a similar transformation. Styles of governance and cultural norms that dealt with Masculine and Feminine Cultures have come and gone throughout much of human history. Masculine societies tend to expand militarily outwards while Feminine societies tend to expand internally through culture.
Unchecked, both systems can lead to collapse. It is wise to assume that the correct balance of both Masculine and Feminine energy is needed to maintain a healthy society that can stand the test of time. If I had to choose a society that has maintained this balance over time i would have to point to the Chinese. After 5000 years of continual existence The Chinese societies have figured out a way to maintain a Nation that has stand the test of time. Perhaps it is because they incorporated the ying/yang system of balance in their culture or perhaps it is due to their social isolation. As America continues to undergo its own polar Masculine and Feminine Battle maybe it is important to recognize what is going on below the surface and recognize it as a continual struggle between two polar opposites vying for control.
